Delhi Metro Diwali Timings Modified: In view of the upcoming Diwali celebrations on Sunday, November 8, 2026, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a detailed travel advisory outlining revised operational schedules across the entire transit network.

According to media reports, the final metro train services on Diwali night will originate from terminal stations across all lines including the high-speed Airport Express Line at 10:00 PM instead of the standard 11:00 PM closing time.

The annual modification is designed to allow commuters ample time to reach their destinations for evening festivities while ensuring that operational personnel, maintenance crews, and station staff can join their families for the festival celebrations.

Early Morning Operations Introduced on Key Metro Routes

Delhi Metro Diwali Timings Modified: While late-night operations will wrap up an hour earlier than usual, DMRC has introduced special early-morning service adjustments to assist passenger movement across the National Capital Region (NCR) on Sunday.

According to official advisories released by the DMRC Corporate Communications department, regular Sunday schedules typically begin train operations at 7:00 AM on several lines.

However, to accommodate early festival travel, shopping trips, and shift workers, train services will start an hour early at 6:00 AM on three major corridors:

Pink Line: Operational services connecting the Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar route.

Magenta Line: Corridors covering Janakpuri West and Botanical Garden to Krishna Park Extension and Deepali Chowk segments.

Grey Line: Feeder connectivity running between Dwarka, Dwarka Kakarola, and Dhansa Bus Stand.

On all remaining corridors, morning train operations will commence as per standard Sunday timetables. DMRC has confirmed that train frequency during peak daytime hours will remain regulated to handle passenger flow across major commercial hubs.

Terminal Departure Rules and Passenger Guidelines for Festive Evening

Delhi Metro Diwali Timings Modified: The core change in the festive schedule centers on late-night terminal departures.

According to media reports, every operational line across the 390-kilometer Delhi Metro network will dispatch its last train from terminal stations strictly at 10:00 PM on November 8.

Feeder bus services connecting metro stations to surrounding residential neighborhoods will also align their last trips with the updated metro timings.

DMRC officials have urged commuters to plan their return journeys well in advance, particularly those transferring across major interchange stations such as Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Mandi House, Hauz Khas, and Central Secretariat.

Special announcements are being broadcast continuously across train public address systems and station platforms, alongside updated information displayed on digital passenger information screens to ensure clear communication.

Broader NCR Transit Integration and Environmental Initiatives

Delhi Metro Diwali Timings Modified: The festive schedule update coincides with ongoing public transportation measures implemented to address seasonal environmental challenges in Delhi-NCR.

According to media reports, following the enforcement of Stage-I measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-I) across the National Capital Region, the DMRC has already expanded its daily operational capacity.

The metro network is running 20 additional train trips on weekdays from Monday through Friday to encourage citizens to choose mass rapid transit options over private gasoline and diesel vehicles, directly aiding regional emission reduction efforts.

DMRC management reiterated that passenger safety, station security, and crowd control management will remain fully operational throughout the festive period, with extra security personnel deployed at high-footfall stations.

Passengers are advised to monitor official DMRC digital platforms for real-time service alerts.
