In a renowned city of India, starting January 1, FIRs will be filed against those giving alms. This decision has been made to make the city free from begging. On Monday, a senior city official said that from January 1, 2025, an FIR will be registered against those who give alms to beggars in Indore.
This decision has been taken as part of the administration’s efforts to achieve the goal of making Indore free from begging.
FIRs for Giving Alms from New Year
Starting January 1, FIRs will be filed against people who give alms in Indore. District Collector Ashish Singh said, “We will run an awareness campaign against begging till the end of this month (December). From January 1, if anyone is found begging, an FIR will be filed against him.”
Do Not Become Partners in Sin by Giving Alms – District Collector
Indore District Collector Ashish Singh has said that the administration has already issued an order to ban begging in the city. He said, “I urge all the residents of Indore not to become partners in sin by giving alms to people.”
Ashish Singh also said that the city administration has exposed many gangs forcing people to beg in the last few months.
Indore’s District Collector said that the administration has rehabilitated many beggars. It is also worth mentioning that the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Central Government has started a pilot project.
Under this initiative, 10 cities across the country will be freed from beggars, in which Indore is also a selected city.
