India had lost the test series last year and that too after they dominated the first match of the five-match series of the red ball format in Perth. Now in the limited overs series, the Men in Blue will be keen to do well in the series of both the formats. Rohit Sharma will be India’s ODI skipper while Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team in the T20I series.

India’s limited over series tour will start from 19th October 2025 at Perh and this tour will end on 8th November 2025 at the Gabba in Brisbane. India’s last limited-over series in Australia was during the 2020 tour Down Under. The Blues won the T20I series and Test series. But they lost the series of the fifty-overs format that time.

Before hosting India for the three match series of the ODI format and five match series of the T20 Internationals, the Aussies would also be hosting South Africa for the limited-overs series. The Proteas will play a series of three match fifty overs series and that many games in the shortest format.

The T20 international series and the fifty-over series between Australia Vs India and Australia Vs South Africa hold special importance because of the T20 World Cup in 2026 which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka and the ODI World Cup will also be held in 2027.

In the 2026 T20 World Cup, most probably, India will be under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav. The joint hosts of that ICC event of the shortest format would aim to defend their crown and also become the first ever nation to achieve this special feat in the T20 International Format.
