Around 9 PM, local residents noticed her lying on the ground in a critical state and immediately alerted the authorities.
Media reports indicate that although her body bore visible bruises and external injuries, there were no visible bloodstains on the ground at the spot where she was found. She was rushed to the nearby AIIMS Trauma Centre, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

According to details provided by the victim’s relatives, Akriti worked as a sales executive with a private firm in the Chhatarpur area. On April 24, she married Arastu Sikka, whom she had known for nearly eight years.
Family members revealed that the couple initially met through Arastu’s sister, and the relationship eventually culminated in a love marriage with the consent of the families.
Media reports mention that Sikka is currently unemployed, while his father is a government employee who reportedly never divulged specific details regarding his official designation or line of work.
Severe Allegations of Torture and a Rs 20 Lakh Dowry Demand

To counter the suicide narrative, the family pointed out that Akriti had just resumed her professional duties on July 1 after her wedding breaks and had even thrown a small celebratory party for her office colleagues.
Her relatives argued that a person planning to take an extreme step would not be celebrating or making future plans at work, citing this as strong circumstantial evidence of foul play.
