In 2023, Shahid made his OTT debut with the black comedy crime-thriller series ‘Farzi’. The show was created by the famous director duo Raj and DK, known for their work on ‘The Family Man’ franchise and ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’.
“Farzi” created a lot of buzz on OTT and became a huge hit. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi, Raashi Khanna, Kay Kay Menon and Bhuvan Arora, the series premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 10, 2023.
Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for the second season. Finally, a big update has come out regarding “Farzi 2”.
Farzi 2: Shahid Kapoor’s Web Series Sequel to Begin Filming in December
Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., “Farzi” was initially planned as a film but was later turned into a web series. This is how Shahid Kapoor entered the world of web series.
The show is based on the story of Sunny (Shahid Kapoor), an artist who, frustrated with the income inequality in India, decides to make fake money with his best friend Firoz (Bhuvan Arora). Now updates have emerged about the sequel of this series.
According to Pinkvilla, the sequel to Shahid Kapoor’s “Farzi”, titled “Farzi 2”, is expected to go on the floors in December 2025. A source revealed that “Raj and DK are currently busy with the ‘Rakt Universe’ project. After finishing it, they will move on to the pre-production of ‘Farzi 2’ and aim to bring it on the floors by December.”
Raj and DK have also held a meeting with Shahid Kapoor regarding the sequel. Shahid Kapoor will once again be pitted against Vijay Sethupathi and Kay Kay Menon in the sequel of Farzi.
When Will Farzi 2 Release?
According to reports, Shahid Kapoor’s film Farzi 2 is likely to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the second half of 2026. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
Reportedly, Shahid will start shooting for Farzi 2 only after completing Dinesh Vijan’s Cocktail 2.
