Jaipur’s emerging talent is all set to make a mark in Mumbai. The new film Gagan-Gaman, starring Jaipur’s talented actress Subrata Parashar, is premiering today, Monday, at the Mumbai Film Festival. The film has been directed by Suruchi Sharma, and Subrata, known for her versatility, is not just an actor but also a voice-over artist and model.
Subrata Parashar’s Work
Recently, Subrata was seen playing the character of Tulsi in the web series Saas-Bahu Flamingo. She has also worked alongside Randeep Hooda. One of the unique aspects of this film is that it is entirely shot in Jaipur, with beautiful backdrops showcasing the Old City of Jaipur and featuring local talent.
Subrata’s Journey: From Jaipur to Stardom
Subrata Parashar, born into a Punjabi family, began her career in Jaipur. Originally a teacher, her passion for theatre led her to pursue acting. She trained at the Jawahar Kala Kendra, performing in numerous plays. From there, she transitioned into television, hosting shows and anchoring for channels like Gemporia (UK-based) and Doordarshan Rajasthan. She has hosted popular programs such as Parikrama, Samajik Sarokar, and Chitrageet.
Jaipur’s Old City as a Backdrop
One of the highlights of Gagan-Gaman is its portrayal of Jaipur’s Old City. The film not only showcases the beauty of this historical setting but also features the talents of two women from Jaipur—both the lead actor and the director. The film tells the story of a woman’s personal journey, blending personal experiences with a universal folk tale. Subrata believes in living life to the fullest, no matter the challenges, and is driven by hard work, determination, and positivity.
