J&K CM Omar Abdullah Meets PM Modi for the First Time After Pahalgam Attack

Pahalgam Attack: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Saturday. This was his first meeting with the Prime Minister after the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 in which 26 tourists were killed. The two leaders discussed the situation arising in the aftermath of the attack.

CM Omar Abdullah had a special discussion with PM Modi regarding security concerns. There is a lot of anger among the people after the terrorist attack. It is necessary to give a strong message to Pakistan to eliminate the roots of terrorism. The people of the country are demanding PM Modi to take decisive steps to end terrorism.

“J&K Government Will Support Any Action by the Centre”

Ahead of the meeting, National Conference (NC) sources had indicated that Omar Abdullah would assure the prime minister of full cooperation from the Jammu and Kashmir administration in any decision taken by the central government – especially in matters related to the Pahalgam attack and national security.

This meeting between Omar Abdullah and PM Modi has taken place at a time when security challenges are increasing in Jammu and Kashmir and the central government has hinted at taking strict action against Pakistan.

Pahalgam Attack: Farooq Abdullah Also Appeals for Unity Against Terrorism

Former Chief Minister and Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) President Farooq Abdullah condemned the attack and appealed to the people to unite against terrorism. He said, “Those involved in the attack are enemies of humanity and will rot in hell. The Indus Water Treaty should be reconsidered.”

Farooq Abdullah visited the house of Adil Hussain Shah, who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, and consoled his family. Adil worked as a pony rider and was one of the 26 people killed in the attack. All the victims except Adil were tourists.
