Each Seat Tells a Unique Story

Rajasthan By-Elections: In the seven constituencies for the by-elections, the political prestige of various candidates is on the line, with each seat holding its own narrative. For instance, in Khinsar, Hanuman Beniwal’s wife, Kanika Beniwal, is contesting. Khinsar is considered Beniwal’s stronghold, and her election results will determine the future of the RLP.

In Dausa, there is a significant political rivalry between Kirori Lal Meena and Sachin Pilot. The BJP has fielded Kirori’s brother, Jagmohan, while Congress has put its faith in Pilot’s close aide, DD Bairwa.

In Chaurasi, the reputation of the BAP is at stake. Sanjay Raut secured a victory by over 69,000 votes in the last election. In Jhunjhunu, the third generation of the Ola family, Amit Ola, is in the electoral fray, while in Ramgarh, the prestige of the Jubair family rests in the hands of their son, Aryan.

This by-election is a crucial test for Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, marking his debut in electoral battles. Apart from losing the Salumber seat, the stakes for these seats are not high for the BJP. If the BJP wins even 2-3 seats out of the seven, it will be considered a success.

Overview of Contesting Candidates

  1. Jhunjhunu Seat: Congress has fielded Amit Ola, who will face independent candidate Rajendra Gudha and BJP’s Rajendra Bhamboo in a triangular contest.
  2. Ramgarh: Congress is leveraging an emotional appeal by fielding Aryan Jubair, son of the late MLA Jubair Khan. His main opponent is BJP’s Sukhwant Singh.
  3. Dausa: The contest here features Congress’s DD Bairwa against BJP’s Jagmohan Meena, with caste dynamics playing a crucial role.
  4. Devli-Uniyara: Congress’s KC Meena will challenge BJP’s Rajendra Gurjar.
  5. Khinsar: In a contest involving Kanika Beniwal, the wife of RLP leader Hanuman Beniwal, she will face BJP’s Revant Ram Danga, with the potential for a triangular contest if the Ralopa fields a candidate.
  6. Salumber: A direct fight is anticipated between Congress’s Reshma Meena and BJP’s Shanti Devi Meena.
  7. Chaurasi: Here, Congress’s Mahesh Rott will face BJP’s Karyl Lal Nanoma and BAP’s Anil Katara in another triangular struggle.

The outcomes of these by-elections will have significant implications for the political landscape in Rajasthan.
