Trump Rejects Iranian Proposal: While Netanyahu Demands End to Nuclear Program

Must read

Trump Rejects Iranian Proposal: Right now, the Middle East is at a turning point.

For the last month, there has been a ceasefire, which means the big armies have stopped shooting at each other for a little while.

However, this peace is very weak. It is like “thin glass” that could shatter at any moment.

The two main countries in this struggle are the United States and Iran.

They are trying to talk about peace, but they are very far apart on what that peace should look like.

Trump Rejects the Peace Plan

Trump Rejects Iranian Proposal: The biggest news today involves President Donald Trump. Recently, the U.S. sent a 14-point plan to Iran to try and end the conflict.

Over the weekend, Iran sent their answer back through messengers in Pakistan.

President Trump was not happy with what they said. He posted on Truth Social, calling Iran’s response “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” He told the world that Iran is “playing games” and that he is running out of patience.

Because Trump rejected their answer, world leaders are now very worried. They are afraid that instead of talking, the U.S. will go back to “maximum pressure,” using its military and economy to squeeze Iran even harder.

Three Reasons Why Peace Is Breaking

Trump Rejects Iranian Proposal: Even though there is a ceasefire, the region is still very dangerous. There are three “flashpoints“, or trouble spots, that could restart a full war today:

The Nuclear Argument: Israel is very worried about Iran’s nuclear program.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently said that the war is not over until Iran’s nuclear fuel is destroyed or taken away.

He warned that if talking doesn’t work, Israel might take military action.

The Oil Blockade: There is a narrow water path called the Strait of Hormuz. It is one of the most important places in the world because 20% of the world’s oil travels through it.

Iran has blocked this path. In return, the U.S. Navy is blocking Iran’s ports.

This “tit-for-tat” fight has made oil prices jump to $100 per barrel, which makes everything more expensive for people all over the world.

Shadow” Attacks: Small attacks are still happening. Yesterday, a ship near Qatar caught fire after being hit by a projectile.

Other countries, like Kuwait and the UAE, said they had to shoot down Iranian drones in their skies. These small fights prove the ceasefire isn’t working perfectly.

What Does Each Side Want?

Trump Rejects Iranian Proposal: The gap between the two sides is like a giant canyon. Here is a simple breakdown of what they are demanding:

The United States wants:

  • Iran to stop all nuclear work immediately.
  • Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz so oil ships can pass.
  • Iran to stop supporting various armed groups in the region.

Iran wants:

  • An immediate end to the war on all sides.
  • The U.S. Navy to leave their ports alone (stop the blockade).
  • Money to pay for the damage caused by the war.

The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, recently said that his country will “never bow” to its enemies. Both sides are acting very tough.

What Happens in the Next 48 Hours?

Everyone is now looking toward May 13. That is when President Trump will visit China.

China is important because they buy a lot of oil from Iran. Trump wants to convince China to stop helping Iran.

He hopes this will force Iran to agree to the U.S. terms.

But time is running out. President Trump has already warned that if a deal isn’t reached, the U.S. and Israel might start bombing again.

He said the next round of attacks would be “at a much higher level” than before.

For the millions of people living in the Middle East, the next two days are critical.

It will decide if 2026 becomes a year of peace or the start of a much bigger, more terrible war.
