Chardham Yatra 2025: Registrations Cross 19 Lakh Mark, Security Preparations in Full Swing

Chardham Yatra 2025: The holy Chardham Yatra 2025 is set to begin on April 30, with the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples opening the same day. Kedarnath Dham will open on May 2, Badrinath Dham on May 4 and Hemkund Sahib will open on May 25.

There is huge enthusiasm among devotees for the pilgrimage this year. So far more than 19 lakh people have registered for the Yatra. More than 300,000 registrations have been recorded for both Yamunotri and Gangotri shrines.

Chardham Yatra 2025: Kedarnath Tops with Over 6.4 Lakh Registrations

The highest number of registrations have been recorded for Kedarnath Dham, where so far more than 648,000 devotees have registered for darshan. Badrinath Dham is also among the top choices for pilgrims, with more than 574,000 registrations to date.

Meanwhile, around 32,000 devotees have registered for Hemkund Sahib, the main pilgrimage site for Sikh followers.

739 Km of Roads Being Repaired Ahead of Chardham Yatra 2025

The Public Works Department (PWD) has intensified its preparations for the Chardham Yatra routes. Chief Engineer Rajesh Chandra Sharma said that the pilgrimage is conducted over a total distance of 739 km and four agencies are continuously working on the route.

He said that landslide-prone areas have also been identified and special repair work is being done there. The target is to complete all road improvement works by April 25.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Personally Monitoring Preparations

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself is keeping a close eye on the preparations for the Chardham Yatra. Recently, he reviewed the arrangements in a high-level meeting held in Dehradun.

CM Dhami said, “Our aim is to ensure that every pilgrim coming to Uttarakhand can complete the Chardham Yatra without any inconvenience. To achieve this, we are in constant dialogue with all the stakeholders associated with the Yatra.”

Chief Minister Dhami said that the Chardham Yatra is an important part of the cultural and spiritual identity of Uttarakhand. He stressed that if any additional effort is needed to make the journey smooth, it will be done without delay. He also directed the administration to ensure that there is no shortage during the journey and the pilgrims are provided with the best experience.
