A Price Tag on a President: Iran Weighs Formal $54M Bounty on Donald Trump

Must read

A Price Tag on a President: In an unprecedented escalation of geopolitical hostility, the Iranian parliament is reviewing a highly controversial legislative bill that would formally authorize a multi-million dollar bounty on the life of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The proposed law, directly targeting the sitting American president, comes as part of a sweeping package of hardline measures following recent military escalations.

The Million-Dollar “Mission”

A Price Tag on a President: Speaking on Iranian state television, Ebrahim Azizi, the head of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, confirmed that lawmakers have drafted a bill titled “Counter-Action by the Military and Security Forces of the Islamic Republic.”

Under this proposed legislation, the Iranian government would be legally obligated to pay €50 million (approximately $54 million USD) to any “natural or legal person” who assassinates President Trump.

Azizi openly framed the assassination as a “religious and ideological mission,” stating that Trump, along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), must face reciprocal action.

“We believe the vile president of the United States, the ominous and disgraceful Zionist prime minister, and the CENTCOM commander must be targeted,” Azizi declared during his televised remarks.

A Deep-Seated Vendetta

A Price Tag on a President: The roots of Tehran’s intense hostility toward Trump trace back to his first term in office.

In January 2020, Trump ordered a high-profile drone strike in Baghdad that killed Qassem Soleimani, the powerful commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force.

Since then, Trump has faced a persistent stream of credible threats and disrupted assassination plots linked back to the Iranian regime.

This latest bill seeks to formalize and state-sponsor those threats into official law.

Crowdfunding and Cyber Pledges

While the parliament considers making the bounty official government policy, a broader, state-aligned public relations campaign has already been underway inside Iran:

Mass Text Campaigns: Earlier this year, mobile users across Iran received state-backed SMS text messages promoting an “international campaign to reward the assassination of Trump.”

Public Crowdfunding: According to the Tehran-based outlet Didban Iran, the SMS campaign directed citizens to a registration website that has allegedly gathered nearly 290,000 supporters and compiled $25 million in pledged funds.

Hacker Alignment: Parallel to the government’s efforts, the notorious hacking collective Handala claimed it has independently allocated another $50 million toward the “elimination” of both Trump and Netanyahu, claiming their dark-web financial channels are fully encrypted and anonymous.

The Geopolitical Fallout

The timing of the bill injects extreme friction into an already volatile global landscape. Coming on the heels of major regional conflicts, the formalization of a bounty on a foreign head of state marks a radical departure from traditional diplomacy, pushing U.S.-Iran relations into unchartered, dangerous territory.

Washington has not yet issued a formal response, but security details surrounding the U.S. President remain at an all-time high.
