MOSCOW UNDER FIRE: In one of the largest coordinated drone assaults since the beginning of the conflict, Russia announced on Tuesday that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 419 Ukrainian drones overnight. The massive wave of attacks targeted multiple regions across the country, including dozens aimed directly at the capital, Moscow.
While Russia claims to have neutralized the threat, the attack has left a trail of devastation. According to an AFP report, a drone struck a private home in a village on the outskirts of Moscow, leading to the tragic death of a six-month-old baby.

MOSCOW UNDER FIRE: The human cost of the overnight strikes hit closest to the Russian capital. Moscow Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov confirmed that a drone smashed into a residential house in the village of Yevgoryevsk, located southwest of Moscow.
“A six-month-old infant tragically died from injuries while being rushed to the hospital,” Governor Vorobyov stated.
The attack also left two adults and another child injured. They are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. While Russia’s Defense Ministry claims that all 419 incoming “fixed-wing” drones were successfully intercepted or downed by electronic warfare, the collateral damage in Yevgoryevsk highlights the growing danger to civilians deep within Russian territory.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin added that at least 61 drones heading specifically toward the capital were intercepted starting Monday evening.

MOSCOW UNDER FIRE: As Moscow reeled from the overnight raids, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed a major victory. Kyiv announced that its forces successfully targeted and hit the Dubna Space Communications Center, located in the Moscow region.
According to Zelensky, this high-tech facility is a critical asset for the Kremlin’s war effort. It is actively used for:
Satellite communications across the federation.
Military intelligence gathering.
Tactical coordination of Russian troops operating inside Ukraine.
“The target is located more than 500 kilometers (310 miles) from the Ukrainian border,” Zelensky said, framing the operation as part of Kyiv’s strategy to impose “long-term sanctions” and disruptions on Russia’s military machine.
Zelensky further revealed that this was not an isolated incident. Ukrainian forces recently struck similar high-value military targets in the Moscow and Vladimir regions, warning that more operations against such sites are already in development.

This overnight raid follows a record-breaking escalation just last week, where Russia claimed to have intercepted a staggering 660 Ukrainian drones between Thursday and Friday, marking one of the largest single drone swarms of the war.
Furthermore, a Ukrainian drone strike last week ignited a massive fire at an oil refinery southeast of Moscow, proving that Russia’s energy and strategic infrastructure remains highly vulnerable.
As both nations trade heavy blows from the sky, the conflict shows absolutely no signs of slowing down, bringing the front lines directly to the doorsteps of everyday citizens.
