Ever since the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal, went to jail, he has been at the center of discussion. Whether it’s for eating sweets despite having diabetes, refusing to resign as the CM and running the government from jail, or attempting to appoint his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, as the CM in his place, his actions have sparked debates time and again. Recently, he has once again come into the limelight by filing a petition in the Supreme Court.
Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal filed a petition in the Supreme Court. In the petition, Kejriwal has demanded an extension of his interim bail by 7 days. The party claims that Kejriwal will have to undergo several tests along with a PET-CT scan, for which he has requested 7 days’ time.
It should be noted that the court had granted Kejriwal bail for 21 days for his party’s election campaign, which is ending on June 1, and he has been directed to surrender on June 2. The court’s decision was based on considering Kejriwal as Delhi’s CM and AAP as a national party. When people and the opposition questioned the decision to grant bail to the Delhi Chief Minister, the court responded, “There is no doubt that serious allegations have been made against him, but he has not been declared guilty yet. Furthermore, he has no criminal history, nor is he a danger to society, hence he has been granted bail for his party’s campaign during the elections.” Now, Arvind Kejriwal has filed a petition in court to extend his bail .
