Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Sheikh Hasina, declared on Monday that his mother will not go back into politics. This declaration signifies Hasina’s arrival in India and ends her 15-year tenure as prime minister, which was announced together with her resignation and departure from Bangladesh.
Joy said that Bangladesh’s former prime minister Sheikh Hasina was “disappointed” that a minority had turned against her following her years of hard work on the BBC’s Newshour show.
“So disappointed that after all her hard work, for a minority to rise up against her,” he stated to the BBC. Joy asserted that Sheikh Hasina had been considering her resignation as prime minister since Sunday.
Wazed Sajeeb Joy Supported Hasina’s Term as PM of Bangladesh
Wazed Sajeeb Joy further supported Hasina’s term as prime minister of Bangladesh. He claimed that she turned around the nation when it was in dire need of help.
Bangladesh has been transformed by her. The state was viewed as failing when she assumed power. It was a developing nation. It was regarded as one of Asia’s rising tigers up until recently. She’s really dissatisfied,” he told the BBC.
Joy, the previous prime minister’s top advisor until recently, disclosed that Sheikh Hasina fled the nation at her family’s request so that she could be secure.
Joy retorts, “You’ve had policemen beaten to death – 13 just yesterday,” in response to claims of the government’s harsh tactics against protestors. When people are being beaten to death by crowds, what do you think the police should do?
Sheikh Hasina Left the Nation on Monday
Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister of Bangladesh, left the nation on Monday. After weeks of protests against a government job quota system became violent. At least 300 people get killed, and expanded into a larger challenge to her 15-year tenure.
Thousands of protesters surrounded her official home as well as other structures connected to her family and party.
The resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina may make the heavily populated country that borders India even more unstable. This country is already dealing with a number of issues, including high unemployment, corruption, and climate change. The capital city of Dhaka’s main airport ceased operations due to security concerns.
