AUS Vs IND: The series between Australia and India started in Perth today. India has yet again cut a sorry figure with the bat in hand. The pace bowlers of the Aussies were all over the Men in Blue at Optus Stadium in Perth. The batters of India have always found it tough to score runs in the conditions where the ball swings and seams.
But the Indian batters have even found it harder and more challenging to score runs in the spinning conditions despite being the best players of spin. In the series versus New Zealand, the spin bowlers of the Kiwis spun a web for the batters of the Men in Blue. Santner, Ajaz Patel and the part-time bowler, Glenn Philips created havoc in the matches of that three-match series of the red ball format, which the Blackcaps won.
However, India was bundled out for just 46 runs in that series opening match played in Bengaluru and that was only because of the pace trio of New Zealand. Matt Henry, William ORourke and Tim Southee were the chief destroyers from the side of the visitors.
AUS Vs IND: Ajinkya Rahane Was The Last Batsman From India Who Scored A Test Century In Australia –
In the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020/2021, the visitors, India, had a horrifying start to their tour of Australia. India batted decently in the first innings, but their outing in the second innings will be the one to forget. The first match was a Pink Ball Test affair played at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, and in the second innings, India, under Virat Kohli, was bundled out for just 36 runs.
Despite that bizarre start, King Kohli left home because of the birth of his child. Ajinkya Rahane led the team for the rest of that away series. India needed an inspirational performance from their captain to claw their way back in that red-ball series, and Jinx responded to the call with immediate effect. Firstly, the Indian bowlers did a wonderful job in the second Test match, which was played at MCG.
The batting powerhouse of the Aussies was bundled out for just 195 runs in their 1st innings when the home side won the toss and opted to bat first. In reply, India batted well and posted 326 runs in their 1st innings. The tourists reached that score mainly because of their stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane who scored a brilliant century in that red-ball game.
Ajinkya scored 112 runs and he was supported well by Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 57 runs to his name. India was ahead by a margin of 131 runs and Australia batted poorly in their second innings yet again. The home side scored just 200 runs and they had set a target of 70 runs for Jinx and co, which India chased down with the loss of two scalps and the visitors also levelled that series to one all with this huge win.
