India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has announced to increase the price of its premium hatchback Baleno by up to Rs 9,000. From this month itself, customers will have to pay more for Baleno.

How much will you have to pay for Baleno now?
Maruti Suzuki India had said in a statement issued in January that the price of the Baleno car has been increased by up to ₹ 9,000. The increase in the price of Baleno may vary depending on the variant and the city from where people are buying the car.
Baleno’s price will now start from ₹6.7 lakh
Baleno’s Delta AGS, Zeta AGS, Alpha AGS variants have now become costlier by ₹9,000. On the other hand, to buy other variants of Baleno, you will have to pay ₹4,000 more. Baleno’s price will now start from ₹6.7 lakh (ex-showroom) and its top variant will be available in Mumbai and Delhi at a price of ₹9.92 lakh (ex-showroom).
Prices of many models including Celerio increased by up to ₹32,500
Maruti Suzuki India had announced a price hike of many of its models from February 1 on January 23. Prices of many models including Baleno, Celerio, Wagon-R, Alto K10, SUVs Brezza, Grand Vitara and S-Presso have increased by up to Rs 32,500.
Maruti Suzuki said, ‘The company is committed to minimise the cost and impact on customers. However, we are bound to pass on some part of the increased expenses to the market.’
The price of the Franx will increase by ₹ 5,500 and that of the Dzire by ₹ 10,000
After the price hike, the price of the compact SUV Franx will increase by ₹ 5,500 and that of the compact sedan Dzire by ₹ 10,000. The company sells a wide range of vehicles, ranging from the entry-level Alto K10 (priced at ₹ 3.99 lakh) to the Invicto (priced at ₹ 28.92 lakh).
Celerio’s ex-showroom price will increase by ₹32,500
Under the price hike, the ex-showroom price of the compact car Celerio will increase by up to Rs 32,500, while the price of the premium model Invicta will increase by up to Rs 30,000.
Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car company
Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car company in terms of market share. It has a 40% share in the Indian market. In November 2024, the company sold 1.44 lakh cars. It has increased by 7.46% on an annual basis.
In the same period last year, the company sold 1.34 lakh cars in the domestic market. In the utility vehicle segment, sales of SUVs including Brezza, Frock, Grand Vitara have grown by about 17% annually.
