Champions Trophy: The Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin next month, starting on February 19 and running till March 9. It will be based on a hybrid model.
The Indian cricket team has been announced and they will begin their campaign on February 20. India have been placed in Group A along with Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand.
Team India’s first match will be against Bangladesh in Dubai. Next, they will take on defending champions Pakistan on February 23, also in Dubai. India’s final group stage match will be against New Zealand on March 2, once again in Dubai.

Champions Trophy: Rohit to Lead Team India
Rohit Sharma has been made the captain of Team India for the Champions Trophy. The 15-member team also includes Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. There was speculation about Bumrah, who was injured during the Australia tour, that he would be out of the group stage of the Champions Trophy. However, with the announcement of the team, it has been confirmed that he will be a part of the tournament.
Despite Bumrah’s inclusion in the squad, his fitness remains a matter of concern. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar said that they are awaiting an update on Bumrah’s fitness and will receive a report from the BCCI medical team in early February.
Champions Trophy: Siraj Left Out of the Squad
Mohammed Shami has made a return to the Indian ODI team after 14 months. Shami last played an international match for India in November 2023 during the ODI World Cup. Like Shami, Jasprit Bumrah is also returning to the ODI team after 14 months.
Mohammed Siraj has not been included in the squad, with Arshdeep Singh taking his place. Washington Sundar and Hardik Pandya have been included as all-rounders, while Kuldeep Yadav is also part of the team. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been selected for the ODI team for the first time.
