Wipro Pune Under Scanner: Following the recent shocking controversy at the Nashik office of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), another major Indian IT giant, Wipro, has found itself in the middle of a massive row over allegations of forced religious conversion.
A former Hindu female employee of Wipro’s Pune branch has raised serious allegations against a male colleague, accusing him of pressuring her to convert to Islam.
The victim shared her ordeal during a press conference organized in Pune.
According to her statement, she was subjected to continuous mental harassment and professional discrimination after she resisted the forced conversion attempts while working at the company’s Hinjewadi office.
A formal complaint has now been registered at the Hinjewadi Police Station, and the victim’s legal team has sent a formal notice to Wipro Technologies.
Forced Resignation and Lack of Support from Seniors
Wipro Pune Under Scanner: According to the victim’s allegations, a fellow male employee at Wipro repeatedly targeted her, pressuring her to embrace Islam and establish a relationship with a Muslim youth.
The woman stated that she actively resisted these demands and brought the matter to the attention of the company’s senior management.
However, instead of receiving support or protection, the victim alleged that certain senior officials at Wipro turned against her.
According to the source, the management allegedly placed additional pressure on the woman to drop the matter rather than taking strict action against the accused colleague.
The victim further claimed that she was eventually forced to submit her resignation during an online corporate meeting in August 2025.
Legal Notice Sent to Wipro Demanding Reinstatement and Damages
Wipro Pune Under Scanner: Following her forced exit from the company, the victim initiated legal proceedings. Her advocate, Vivek Bhosale, confirmed that a comprehensive legal notice has been dispatched directly to Wipro Technologies.
The legal notice puts forward two primary demands:
Reinstatement: The company must immediately reinstate the female employee to her previous position.
Compensation: Wipro must pay a financial compensation of ₹50 lakh to the victim for the severe mental harassment and professional distress she suffered.
Advocate Bhosale stated that Wipro has been given a strict 15-day window to respond and take corrective action regarding the matter.
The legal team has clarified that if the IT company fails to address the grievances within this stipulated period, they will formally move the court to seek justice.
Wipro Yet to Respond; Police Launch Investigation
This incident has surfaced closely on the heels of a similar ongoing investigation at TCS Nashik, where an SIT (Special Investigation Team) was formed to look into complaints of religious conversion and harassment filed by multiple female employees.
The emergence of a second case within a major multinational IT corporation has raised serious concerns regarding workplace safety, internal HR protocols, and cultural compliance for women in the corporate sector.
As of now, the local police at the Hinjewadi station are actively cross-checking the facts and verifying the claims made in the complaint.
According to available reports, Wipro Technologies has not yet released an official statement or corporate response regarding the allegations or the legal notice served by the victim’s counsel. Further developments in the case are expected as the police investigation progresses.
