Must read

West Bengal Elections: A shocking incident came to light during voting in Ketugram, where six live crude bombs were recovered from a suspicious bag near a polling booth.

The incident occurred near Polling Station No. 35 in Biruri village, where long queues of voters were expected.

Due to the alertness of security personnel, a major conspiracy was foiled in time, preventing a potential disaster.

Questions Raised Over Security in MLA’s Stronghold

The area is considered a stronghold of TMC MLA Sheikh Shah Nawaz.

The incident occurring within his constituency has raised serious concerns about the security arrangements and intelligence system.

According to the police, the recovered bombs were quite powerful and had been strategically hidden near the polling booth.

Initial investigations suggest it was a planned attempt to create panic on election day.

Was It a Plot to Intimidate Voters?

Following the incident, a key question has emerged—who is behind planting these bombs?

Local residents and authorities believe that the explosives could have been intended to intimidate voters, disrupt polling, or incite violence.

Police are also investigating whether an organized political or criminal network is involved.

Security Forces Take Control

As soon as the incident was reported, security in the area was tightened. Additional deployment of state police and central forces was made, and the entire area was cordoned off.

A radius of around 500 meters surrounding the polling booth has been sealed. Officials stated that their priority is to ensure peaceful and fair voting.

Bomb Disposal Squad Carries Out Operation

After confirmation, the bomb disposal squad was immediately called to the scene. Experts carefully secured the bombs and transported them to a safe location, where the defusal process was initiated.

The entire area is also being rechecked with metal detectors to ensure no other explosive material has been left behind.

Voters Remain Undeterred Despite Fear

Although the incident created panic in the village, it did not affect voter turnout.

Following an appeal by the Election Commission of India, voters turned out fearlessly to cast their votes. By 3 PM, more than 78% voter turnout was recorded, reflecting strong public faith in democracy.

Investigation Ongoing, Suspects Being Questioned

Police have registered a case against unknown individuals and have detained some suspects for questioning.

Authorities have stated that all those involved in this conspiracy will soon be identified. Search operations are ongoing, and security agencies remain on high alert.

This incident once again highlights that attempts to disrupt the democratic process still persist, but such conspiracies cannot succeed against vigilant security systems and the courage of the people.
