Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Preview Of Sunrisers Hyderabad –
The Orange Army has reached the finals of the Indian Premier League tournament for the third time. They had won the title in the 2016 edition and they couldn’t win in the 2018 season. In the 2016 edition, David Warner was the skipper under whom the SRH side won their maiden trophy while in 2018, Kane Williamson was the captain when Hyderabad lost to Chennai Super Kings in the finals of that year.
Now Pat Cummins will look to be just the fourth Australian to lift an IPL trophy. Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist and David Warner are the captains of the Aussie nation who have won an IPL trophy. Cummins is a winner of two ICC titles. He won the World Test Championship tournament last year and ODI World Cup 2023 trophy as well.
SRH bowled well in the qualifier two match which was played yesterday against Rajasthan Royals. Abhishek Sharma can be a handy spin bowling all-rounder for the orange army in the future. Not many players bat well in the opening position and also bowl well in the middle order like Sharma ji did yesterday.
Shahbaz Khan also made an impact with the ball, which didn’t allowed the Royals to settle in a run chase of 176 runs. Shahbaz was also awarded the Player of the Match award for his brilliant performance yesterday. Now he should also deliver in the must-win match like a final, where the pressure will be higher than in a qualifier two match.
The fast bowling also looks good for SRH. Bhuvi, Cummins, Nataranjan and Unadkat are in decent form. But the batting hasn’t produced any power like SRH did in the starting few matches of the tournament. They are the team who have a record of scoring the most runs in the powerplay overs and the first ten overs of the innings.
SRH scored 125 runs without losing a single wicket in the first six overs, which is the highest in the powerplay and they also amassed 158 runs for the loss of four wickets in the first half of the innings, which is also the most after the tenth over mark. However, their batting hasn’t been consistent and it has blown hot and cold in this edition.
Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, Nitish Reddy and Adul Samad need to fire in the final tomorrow. Rahul Tripathi has been good with his fireworks in the games that he has played till now and Heinrich Klaasen was a class act in yesterday’s match. He scored a good half-century which allowed Sunrisers to post a decent score on the board.
Playing XI Of Sunrisers Hyderabad – Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Reddy, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Abdul Samad, Pat Cummins (c), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, T Natarajan.
Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Preview Of Kolkata Knight Riders –
The Purple Army of Kolkata Knight Riders have reached their fourth IPL final in this year’s TATA IPL 2024 edition. In 2012 and 2014, under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir, KKR won their two IPL titles. In 2021, KKR reached their third final of this cash-rich league tournament. But they lost to Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings under the captaincy stint of England’s ODI World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan.
The Purple Army has been good with the bat in hand. They have had good cameo knocks. Narine, Skipper Iyer and Phil Salt have been good. But KKR will miss Salt in the final as they missed him in the qualifier one match against the same side of the Hyderabad team. Kolkata can open the innings with Rahmatullah Gurbaz in Salt’s absence as they did against SRH in qualifier one.
Gurbaz did well as the opener in the last game which KKR won and they progressed to the finals. In the last match of this year’s IPL, Kolkata should stick to this player from the team of Afghanistan. Gurbaz can provide an explosive start to the innings which could help KKR to apply early pressure on the night of the big final.
KKR’s bowling too has been handy and they have quality spinners as well in their playing XI. Sunil Narine, the most valuable player of the Knight Riders’s side has been good with the bat and ball in this season. With that, all eyes will be on Mitch Starc. KKR will want Starc to get rid of his country mate, Travis Head early just like he did in the qualifier one match.
Andre Russell is another all-rounder to watch out for in the final and Rinku Singh, whose bat is silent for most of the tournament needs to fire as well on the night of the final. Playing XI Of Kolkata Knight Riders – Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer (c), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh , Mitchell Starc, Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy.
